Hello friends…I hope this newsletter finds you well and looking forward to the Portland Recorder Society meeting on May 17, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. This meeting is special because we open “the stage” to anyone or group that would like to perform. No arm twisting but if you would like to showcase a talent of yours, you are welcome to share with us. We do ask that we limit your time of fame to five minutes. That is of course to allow for more presentations. if you are interested, I know you are, please contact me and let me know who and what you will be performing. Again, no arm twisting but it is a great time to try out performing. We are a very friendly group! Now, just because you might not be showcasing your talents, please do come because we have some great music to look at together.
We will for sure do the Canzona Prima: La Solda by Floriano Canale (c.1550-c.1603) and by popular demand, Ich stund an einem Morgen by Ludwig Senfl (c.1486-c.1543). Published in the VdGSA journal, is the lovely chanson by Claude Sermisy (1490 – 1562), Espoir est grand, and speaks of hope. All music can be found below. So, we have a full schedule of music. There will be something for everyone. Come enjoy and afternoon of music and friendship!
All the best, Laura Kuhlman
