Hello my friends!
We are entering into the autumn season and with that comes the opening sessions of the Portland Recorder Society. From the membership survey and much discussion at the Board meetings over the summer, we have voted to have in-person Sunday meetings on November 6, and December 4, 2022, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. We will meet at St. David of Wales, 2800 SE Harrison, in Portland. There are plenty of parking spaces and a handicap ramp available for those in need.
We will follow COVID-19 safety protocols to make sure all members are comfortable. We ask that you be vaccinated and at least one booster. You will need to bring either your vaccine card or a picture to show at the door. You will be required to wear a mask when you are not playing. St. David’s Community Hall is a very large, open, and airy space so you will be able to spread out to your comfort level.
Those of you that have them, please bring the Susato Danseyre book. Dust it off. It is a purple cover. I will have copies for those without.
As usual, our meetings are open to all and any instrument you might want to bring: recorders, bagpipes, double reeds, strings and even a melodica if you have one! Bring a music stand, all the instruments you want to play, some water (if needed) and a big smile on your face because we are playing music live and together.
Music will be available online to download off our website. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will help you the best that I can!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you. Bring a friend!
All the best,
Laura Kuhlman
