President’s Message

Our Portland weather turned rainy on the very first day of fall, and what better way to spend an upcoming rainy Sunday afternoon than making music with friends at St. David of Wales!

We are certainly excited to be back in person for a full playing season.  Although covid guidelines have been relaxed, we do ask you to be mindful of everyone’s health; if you have the sniffles or have tested positive for covid, we ask that you please stay home.

PRS playing sessions this season will include performance opportunities, so be thinking about what you (or you and your friends) might like to play for us!

Columbia Gorge Early Music Retreat returns to Menucha in March ’24, with an outstanding faculty: Laura Kuhlman, Phil Neuman, Gayle Neuman, Vicki Boeckman and Sarah Jeffery. This year, we will be partnering with Menucha – they will oversee registration, while PRS will continue to bring you the same high-quality programs that we have in the past.  New this year: a CGEMR scholarship will be awarded to someone living in the greater Portland-Vancouver Metro area who has never attended our workshop – stay tuned for details!

To stay abreast of recorder happenings and new details about our playing sessions and CGEMR, subscribe to our newsletter if you do not already do so.  Check our website for recorder-related news and information, and to download music ahead of each playing session.

We look forward to seeing you!

Warmly,
Susan Campbell
